John Burke

John is seasoned senior operating executive with a 25+ year track record of delivering profitable growth in both large and emerging technology and software businesses. John was the chief operating officer of Rovi where he led the transformation of the company’s content discovery, user interface, and data analytics businesses, including the acquisition of TiVo. Prior to Rovi/TiVo, John led both large-scale and emerging businesses for Arris, Motorola, and General Instrument.

John is an active investor, advisor, and board member to emerging companies in big data, machine learning, and workforce optimization. He has extensive experience in business plan and strategy development, restructuring and transformation, due-diligence and business integration, and talent development.



Neil Heller

Neil Heller

Neil is an entrepreneur, investor, and seasoned operating executive with decades of experience. He has worked in senior executive positions in a Fortune 50 Corporation and has founded multiple businesses in the media, consulting, and venture capital arenas. He has had several successful exits from the companies he has founded.

Prior to forming Vetust Advisors, Neil was the Managing Director of The Heller Group. The Heller Group (THG) focused on providing interim management, strategic guidance, and business advisory services. THG has done a great deal of work in the areas of: Media, Advanced Advertising, and Data Analytics. The firm has also worked with more traditional companies, focusing on strategy, operational improvement, and business development.

Before The Heller Group, Neil served as the Senior Vice President of Joint Venture Operations for Comcast. He was responsible for managing enterprises acquired and/or formed by Comcast.

Prior to Comcast, Neil was a founder and Chairman of Katalyst, LLC (a 50-person consulting firm) and was the Managing Partner of Katalyst Venture Partners (KVP), Katalyst’s investment arm. At Katalyst, Neil worked with dozens of companies in multiple industries. KVP invested in companies for which Katalyst provided consulting services. Among others, Limited Partners in KVP included: Comcast Interactive Media, Liberty Media, Cox Cable, GE Capital, and Lenfest Communications.

Before forming Katalyst and KVP, Neil was a founder and Chief Executive Officer of TVSM, Inc. TVSM was the largest publisher of cable television programming magazines in the United States. TVSM was sold to NewsCorp.

In addition to his business career, Neil started his career as an attorney focusing on business and corporate law.
